ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT (ECM)
This term describes the technologies, methods and tools used to capture, store, manage, preserve, and deliver content or information related to organizational processes.
ECM generally refers to an organization’s structured and semi-structured documents, such as e-mails and office documents (texts, tables, and so forth).
It encompasses the functions of Electronic Document Management (EDM), Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), Records Management (RM), and e-mail and workflow management.
ULTIMA is capable of much more as it can manage the entire range of an organization’s content, not just its documents.
For example, ULTIMA can manage all the objects in an organization’s museum, archives and library collections.
